ANTWERP - For the second year in a row the International Yoga Day was organized on the fields at Middelheimlaan in Wilrijk. The diva lamp there was lighted by representatives of the City of Antwerp, the Antwerp World Diamond Centre and the Antwerp Indian Association. About 500 people attended the mass yoga session.
Priti Kothari of the Antwerp Indian Association called it a lovely yoga session. “Together with our strengths we even invited sunshine here.” she said. Priti underlined the importance of the International Yoga Day. “Whether it is an Indian or a multi community, it just brings and binds everybody together.”
Yoga teacher Reetu Mehta said the experience was magical as the sun came out quit often. “We had everyone very much synchronized which was spectacular with such a large audience and crowd.” said Reetu. Teacher Shubrit Walia called the event fantastic. “It was so peaceful and relaxing that finally in the mediation I fell asleep.” he admitted.
The organizers of the event said that there will be a third edition of the international Yoga Day next year. Namasté.
